CELEBRATING INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES

On behalf of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP), I wish you all a warm welcome to the 2019 National Indigenous Peoples Day, taking place on the traditional, unceded territories of the Algonquin peoples and their descendants.

MESSAGE FROM NATIONAL CHIEF ROBERT BERTAND

MESSAGE FROM NATIONAL CHIEF ROBERT BERTAND

I would like to thank the Indigenous Festival Committee for its support, the volunteers and all participants who contribute to the success of this celebration and the conservation of our cultures. This event is one of the largest of its kind and would not have been possible without the support of every single one of us. I have kept special memories from previous celebrations of the National Indigenous Peoples Day and would invite anyone to come have a taste of our cultures at this special event. From the food to the entertainment of all kinds, and the famous Pow Wow competition, there is something for everyone.

Our cultural heritage is our memory, and National Indigenous Peoples’ Day is our time to recount our history. Every year, we come together to
showcase the richness of our heritage and proudly celebrate.

This year again, I am looking forward to seeing all Indigenous peoples unite in peace, harmony and joy to experience the best our cultures have to offer. I hope to see you join us in great numbers!
